PREA

Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA)

The Curry County Sheriff's Office and the Curry County Jail maintains a zero-tolerance standard regarding custodial rape, sexual misconduct and sexual harassment between Adults in Custody (AIC) or between AIC's and staff.

There is no such thing as consensual sex in custody.

All sexual and romantic activity between staff and AIC's is prohibited and against Oregon State Law. The Curry County Sheriff's Office will investigate all allegations of sexual misconduct, and suspects will be prosecuted.

AIC's are encouraged to report acts of sexual misconduct and sexual harassment. AIC's are given numerous ways to report allegations, and can remain anonymous.

If you or someone you know has been sexually abused in custody, you can report this by contacting jail command staff or by filling out the following form. You can remain anonymous if you choose to.
