There are three Planning Commission positions open, one position for a resident of the south part of the County, one position for the central part of the County, and one position for the north part of the county.
The Planning Commission makes decisions on subdivision applications, appeals of staff decisions on land use permits and works with the Community Development Director on amendments to the County’s Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Code. Planning Commission meetings are held the third Thursday evening of the month from 5:30 – 8 PM. Some months Planning Commission meetings may be cancelled for a lack of a quorum, inclement weather, a summer break or holiday time.

Citizen's Budget Advisory Committee
The Citizen’s Budget Advisory Committee (CBAC) is an ad-hoc citizen committee established for the purpose of examining the County’s budget in light of expected drastic revenue shortfalls in the context of the County’s desire to provide mandated public services for the 2018-19 budget period. Voting members of the CBAC shall be comprised of no fewer than five (5) and no more than (9) tax payers of Curry County appointed by the Board of Commissioners. Voting members shall be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the Board of Commissioners. Non-voting members shall be the County Accountant, and one member of LPSCC, appointed by LPSCC. Non-voting members shall not count toward a quorum. These two members shall constitute staff of the CBAC; the County Accountant shall chair the CBAC.
